Here's more meat about my trip- Day 2: Trondheim and Nithadaros Cathedral
This day, my mum and I went NTNU campus to get my student card and semester card settled. Then, we took a rather scenic walk, down to the Nidelva River, across the old town bridge and to the Nithadaros Cathedral.
Hmmmz... we weren't allowed to take photos inside the palace, which has a very grand main hall and one of the inner rooms has art motiffs extending as one continuous picture from the walls to the ceiling. After the guided tour of the Archbishop's Palace ended, we proceeded to the main attraction- the Nithadaro's cathedral. It's one of the largest cathedrals in Europe and is the largest catherdral in Northern Europe. Similarly, we had a guided tour of the cathedral and photography wasn't allowed within the cathedral halls. (Hmmmz... a trivia for the christians out there who are reading my blog: The guide mentioned that this John guy in the Bible got baptised in this cathedral. ) However, there were scheduled timings for climb up to the top of the church towers.... Man, it was kinda scary with the 172 spiralling steps and the stairway was narrow. Urrgh.... Kinda freaked out since I was claustrophobic. But the climb up to the top of the tower was worth it.
